Album Artist - Shintaro Kago

Yes everyone, it seems that Shintaro Kago, everyone's favorite guro mangaka has slammed down some of his artwork on an album cover. Cool cover art can really make a CD better. But this post isn't about whatever is on the CD itself, it's about what's on the cover.

Actually it is just an excuse for me to say that I like Shintaro Kago. Go pick up some of his scanslated manga at Flying Teapot and learn to like him too. I personally prefer Kago (for guro I guess) because of his more funny and experimental works. A normal gross-out guro artist he is not. He’s something special. He's abnormally disgusting really, but in a fascinating way.

Highly recommended are:

Harakiri - A short (and relatively clean, for guro) manga about suicide and the Japanese obsession with fads. My personal favorite.

Annnddd......

Super Conductive Brains - A longer treat with organic mechs, body modification and little people! It may not be ero-guro, which is nice really, but it is still grotesque. It was a several chapter serial that I believe was originally published for a shonen magazine. Some kind of weird ass shonen magazine I guess.

If you like him, why not look him up sometime? He's got some pretty cute toys that he makes as well as short films. Fall in love with Kago's character's cute faces, his unique style of comic writing and err.... quirky(?) sense of humor.
